When Looking for a Job?
How many times have you done or heard
someon else say: “I don’t have the time,
I don’t have the money, I don’t have my
family behind me, and on and on”?
This excuse-itis is worse than pro-
crastination. Procrastination implies that
you will eventually get something done.
Excuses, however, are just little fears in
disguise. It is hard to approach employers
and ask for a job. The big fear comes out
of the little one, which is REJECTION.
So, it is easier to complain, tell others that
there are no jobs, stay at home doing
chores, and fill in time that could be spent
contacting others about jobs.
The continuing withdrawal from looking for
a job is close to a mental impediment, which
can lead to depression, illness, anger, alcohol
indulgence, etc.
Now what can the hapless job seeker do
except to hide? The best of all ways is to
take action, regardless of the big, bad word
of rejection. There might be many “We’re not
hiring” or “We’ve hired someone else”.
There will be a yes: “You’re hired!”, in time.
Patience, too, is better than “excuse-itis”.

Nostradamus was a French astrologer born in 1503. He published a collection
of prophecies in 1555. Each of the four-line verses (called quatrains) is
said to foretell a world event at some time in the future.
Of course, ever since that time, the works of this man have been claimed to
have foretold just about everything, including wars, the rise and fall of
empires, assassinations and disasters, as well as just about anything else.
Anyone who has ever really read these prophecies will immediately realize
that they are written in such a vague way that they could mean almost
anything. Nostradamus was purposely vague in his writings, as he was
constantly being harassed and watched by the church.
Naturally, there are many people who claim right away that Nostradamus
predicted the September 11th disasters. In fact, the following “prophecy”
circulated within hours of the attack.
In the City of God there will be a great thunder,
Two brothers torn apart by Chaos,
while the fortress endures,
the great leader will succumb,
The third big war will begin when the big city is burning
- Nostradamus 1654
It’s interesting to note how stupid some people are - Nostradamus died in
1566. If you are going to make a hoax at least get your facts right! By the
way, this actually was created by a student at Brock University in Canada in
the 1990s, appearing on an essay on Nostradamus. He was trying to show how
anyone could make something that looks like a prophecy.
Someone obviously mistook this for a real prophecy and added a few lines of
his own.
In the City of God there will be a great thunder,
Two brothers torn apart by Chaos,
while the fortress endures,
the great leader will succumb,
The third big war will begin when the big city is burning
On the 11th day of the 9 month,
two metal birds will crash into two tall statues
in the new city,
and the world will end soon after.
I received another with a slight variation. Note that Nostradamus is
misspelled and that New York is at the 41st degree of latitude, not the 45th
(the email author pointed out the 45 was the latitude of New York). By the
way, none of these lines has anything to do with anything that was written
by Nostradamus, except that someone went to some trouble to mix and match a
few lines here and there.
In the year of the new century and nine months,
From the sky will come a great King of Terror.
The sky will burn at forty-five degrees.
Fire approaches the great new city
In the city of york there will be a great collapse,
2 twin brothers torn apart by chaos
while the fortress falls; the great leader will succumb;
third big war will begin when the big city is burning
-NOSTRIDAMUS
and yet another variation:
In the City of Apples there will be a great thunder,
Two tall brothers torn apart by chaos,
while the fortress endures, the great leader will succumb,
The third big war will swiftly begin from the city of
burning (Nostradamus 1654)
Yet another variation showed up in emails all over the internet.
Earth-shaking fire from the center of the earth.
Will cause the towers around the New City to shake,
Two great rocks for a long time will make war,
And then Arethusa will color a new river red.
This actually comes from a real verse, below.
Volcanic fire from the center of the earth
will cause trembling around the new city:
Two great rocks will make war for a long time.
Then Arethusa will redden a new river.
You will note the correct translation does not include anything at all about
towers.
Some hoaxer played the numbers game (another favorite pastime of the
followers of Nostradamus). The attack is no exception.
The flights that were hijacked were from United and American Airlines, they
were numbered as follows: 11, 93, 175, and 77
11= Today’s’ Date (Sept. 11)
9+3=12 = Tomorrow (Sept. 12)
1+7+5=13 = Thursday
7+7=14 = Friday
I’m not sure what this is supposed to prove, but it’s pretty darn silly. A
hoax, of course.
The flights were chosen for specific reasons. The numbers meant nothing.
- Destination (large amount of fuel on board),
- Origin (large amount of fuel remaining at time of impact),
- airport security (or lack thereof),
- and time of departure (for a loosely coordinated attack)
There is a real passage from Nostradamus which is similar to the one above
(although nothing matches the attack facts).
When 1999 is seven months o’er
Shall heaven’s great King — albeit a dread host, he –
Restore the King from Angoumois once more,
Ere — after March — he’ll reign propitiously.
This verse has been used to predict everything (almost literally) from
comets to disasters.
So what’s the bottom line? The prophecies of Nostradamus may or may not be
valid. But they have nothing to do with the terrorist attack on September
11th. Nothing at all.

*** Focus on one thing at a time. Invest what you want out of it. If you give little you’ll get little out of it. Be extremely selective of what you focus your time and energy in.
*** Patience in the results you get. Keep working at it as long as you see the progressive results. A master knows that results are the difference between beating a dead horse and encouraging a slow moving horse.
I am sorry. I just dropped a concept there without introducing it.
Progressive Results is whenever you see that your efforts are getting the results that keep you toward your goals.
This is divides Patience and Waiting. If you are not getting the results you want and need for a prolonged time. Change it, but organize and focus your energy and time in the correct direction first.
Please reread the last few sentences before you move on. They are amazingly important to you success in time management and life.

The lives of many are just illusions with-in the Matrix.
The Matrix & Bush
Just imagine that your life & beliefs are merely fables! You get up in the morning & go to work thinking that you live in a free country - where the will of the people decides the Presidency, and the government protects you from foreign enemies by sending your brave men/women into battle to fight for your freedoms guaranteed by the Constitution.
But one day you wake up to see planes crashing into buildings & you realize that you live in a federal prison (2 million Americans incarcerated - more than any other nation including China & Russia!) in which the government provokes foreign enemies to attack by invading the holy lands of Muslim nations (violating their religion which forbids nonbelievers on holy soil & calls for Jihad to remove them!). You realize that the government is sending brave young men/women into harms way for cheap middle-east oil & then rips the Constitution (your rights/freedoms) to pieces under the guise of protecting you with the Patriot Act!
It then turns out that establishing the Department of Homeland Security was necessary because the National Defense was misused as an Offence to police the world & enforce political agendas, leaving the homeland unguarded & vulnerable! You also find out that the federal government allowed the airlines to get away with spending only 1% on security although terrorist plots involving hijacking airplanes were known to be in the works.
And to top it all off you discover that the President was put into power by his father’s appointees (ringers) on the Supreme Court who willfully & knowingly violated the Constitution (felons!) when they interfered in the election - although the Constitution states that settling vote disputes is the job of the Congress (all several hundred of them & not just a few justices loyal to their parties over the Constitution.) You realize that your news stations are owned by a few major corporations who are in bed with the Career Politicians (who they buy with lobbyists) and your life is just one big fable run by Corporate Dictators who feed you only what they want you to know.
The Constitution protects “Us” the People from “Them” the government so it behooves us to take the other pill & wake up before these greedy felons sell us out to the highest bidder or weapons of mass destruction being used on US soil!
Remember, “A Patriot is Loyal to the Constitution - not a Party or Career!”

This year’s U.S. Presidential election is not only much analyzed here, but is being watched with anticipation all over the world.
While both Barack Obama and John McCain have laid out their respective positions on many issues, one issue they have yet to address is their stance on legalized online poker The Poker Players Alliance, the million-person-plus grassroots poker advocacy organization, posted on its Web site a letter written by Sen. Obama in response to a letter apparently from a constituent asking about his position on online poker.
A full copy of the letter is available at www.ppa.org, but the gist of his response was noncommittal at best. Obama summarized the state of current laws concerning online gambling, then wrote vaguely, “I recognize both the need to comply with federal and state laws and the desire of many Illinoisans to not have the federal government over-regulate their behavior. As opportunities to reexamine this issue arise, I will certainly keep your concerns in mind.”
As of yet, the PPA has either not sent a letter to Mr. McCain or not received a response. However, netiher candidate’s Web site mentioned any sort of platform relating to online poker and, sadly, I don’t think it will be a priority issue for either.

For some people building a wardrobe simply means going out and buying clothes and shoes that are comfortable. For others shopping is a second religion for them so building a wardrobe has more to do with how many times a week they can go shopping than what is actually in there closet. But there are others that are working with tight budgets so going shopping all the time to build a sensible stylish wardrobe is important for both work and casual time. I have been talking with my wife about how she goes about building her wardrobe and she gave a few simple tips that I am going to share with you. One of the things that she told me that stuck with me the most was, “Don’t buy special occasion clothes. Buy a few pieces that no matter where you go or what you are doing they will be ok to wear.”
Know your Bodyshape
First off as a Plus size man or woman not everything will fit your bodyshape so that’s the first step to make sure that you know your bodyshape and if it is something that is not flattering to your bodyshape then its not for you. This is the number one reason that lots of Plus people are unhappy with there clothes.
Buy a core set of clothes
This will be the foundation of your entire wardrobe. In this first series I’m going to concentrate on the women then I will follow up with the men. Skirts

Tops are the key to making your wardrobe seem like you have a ton of clothes. Having at least two dozens tops of various styles and colors to match your tastes is just the perfect thing to set off your wardrobe.
Shoes
With the introduction of tennis shoes into the workplace it makes it tough sometimes for some ladies to tie together an outfit without looking like they are about to head out for a day of errands. Sticking with our foundation theme then when it comes to shoes the type shoes that are your core shoes depends on your job. If you have a job that you stand all day then high heels are not the shoe for you, a modest pump or flat is the direction that you need to go. If standing is not an issue then a heel is ok but if your not a heel person then obviously a mule or sandal would be a great start.
Accessories
The sky is the limit in this area. Belts, sarongs, sashes, ear rings, rings, anklets, etc. Are the perfect things to set off any outfit. Having fun interesting pieces that reflect your personality and fashion sense can go a long way towards building a strong foundation of clothes.
Things to avoid
What kills a lot of ladies today is that they spend a lot of time and money buying jeans, to the point that a big part of there closet consists of jeans therefore when its time to do something that requires a more dressy approach then they are in a bind to find something to wear. Owning a few pairs of jeans, tennis shoes and baseball caps is not a problem but they shouldn’t be the foundation of your wardrobe. Also avoid fancy t-shirts. Though t-shirt technology has come a long way bottom line its still a t-shirt.
It’s obvious that this is just the tip of the iceberg as far at your clothes are concerned because we all know that buying clothes is a very individual personal thing and when it comes to a plus lady its even more so. But with a few smart choices then you can build a strong foundation that you can mix and match endlessly be it for work or for more casual affairs.
