One of Europe’s most famed snowboarding areas, Val d’Isre sports 459 km of pistes. The season commences during November and culminates in the start of May. The purpose built French village caters everything for you. Val d’Isere stretches down the vale from La Daille until Le Fornet with the apres ski in the centre of Val Village. This bunch of attractive luxury chalets comprise smart shops nearly all of which have arisen since the resort was voted for the Winter Olympics in 1992.
Spred over three parts the town has ample slopes for all levels of skiers. Val d’Isere has a great snow record, the village is hugely popular among advanced boarders and motorway skiing intermediates, but you don’t have to be especially brave to love what’s there. It is easy to how come umpteen Brits are drawn to the area, with its exciting nightlife and the range of amusement on offer, furthermore the near proximity of Tignes enables you to head out to less busy areas if it all begins to get a bit much.
Pros
A superb night-life in France. Everyone speaks English. Comfortable entrance to Val d’Isre and Tignes known as the Espace Killy ski area. It has a lot of vehicles and whilst there are many buses in the day, dedicated apres skiers should head to be within walking distance of the town.
Cons
Pricy. Frantic and very popular with English skiers, and so not for holiday makers seeking a classic French ski resort to relish a stress free holiday. Several ski lifts can close in inclement weather conditions. A few hard blue and green slopes.

he better part for me is the Video on Demand. Whilst we had this service through Comcast wire before we had DirecTV it’s miles better here. Prior to it being just some TV shows I did not care to observe, many that did not even appear on regular TV, with pay-per-view and some films from the premium movie channels. All of the Showtime series have the present episodes available to be studied at any point with no necessity to record.
And from what it is like now, every film that seems on this channels that month is available to look at when you need.
Although he is the worker here, my man generally isn’t impressed with high tech gadgetry or services. However, after all these years of having assorted premium channels, be it HBO, Showtime, Starz, etc, he is excited to not need to be constrained to just those few of pictures on consistently.
He found Hollywood Knights showing on video on demand on Fix and Slapshot on RetroTV and he was hooked. Fundamentally , we are all hooked in some form with this U-verse service. Had it not been for the problems getting to the installation point, they’d be getting 4 stars here, but that still bothers me, even though my U-verse was definitely worth the wait.

Tutors may help improve scores and get your child back up to speed. That said, good reading tutors are a challenge to come by. Kids struggling to read from their parents and teachers may need a little outside help. If a child is not keeping up in school even if he is trying hard, a specialized teacher might be able to teach your child or encourage a struggling kid to learn. Here’s a number of considerations about the things to hunt for in a reading teacher, how to go about finding one, and how you can tell a tutor is right for your child. Every kid learns in their own way, so it is best to pick a tutor that suits your child. You might kick off a search speaking with the kid’s counselor or teacher to discuss instructional alternatives. Many public libraries and and community centers often make reading assistance available.
Thumbing through a services directory may give a few private educational centers. Perhaps if your child demonstrates a chronic difficulty reading, you could look into a provider with expert speech-language pathologists including this group of chicago reading tutors, because most reading tutors are pedagogy generalists not familiar with the nature of reading difficulties like dyslexia. Finally, when you have found a prospective tutor, it is important to consider whether he or she is actually the right tutor for your child. Take an active role interviewing a reading tutor. Some parents figure one tutor is no different than the other. This is just not the case. Examine a tutor with an instructional method consistent with the national reading panel.
Expect results and observable progress in your child’s skills. A good teacher will make meaningful progress with your child that can last and stay with the child forever. Some tutors, especially tutoring networks, offer children with a test to benchmark progress precisely where they begin to struggle.

>1. Who are the prime candidates to rekindle a romance?
The most successful rekindled romances were lost lovers who had been 17 or
younger at the time of the initial romance — first loves — and had separated for
situational reasons, like “parents disapproved,” “moved away.” “went off to college,”
etc. Age of the couples didn’t matter — if they were 18 or 95, the romance worked
the second time. In fact, the older they were for the reunion, the better their
chances of success.
>2. Is Lost & Found Love successful the second time around?
Yes! In my sample of 2000 people worldwide, ages 18 to 95, 72% of them reported
that they are “still together” with their lost and found lover. And these weren’t just
“good” romances; these were wildly sexual, soul mate reunions. Absence really does
make the heart grow fonder!
>3. What if the couples had been “first loves”?
First loves had the highest “stay together” rate — 78% are happily reunited, and
remain blissfully in love over their many years of marriage.
>4. Are rekindled romances more intense than other loves?
Yes. I asked participants to rate the emotional involvement of the rekindled
romance, as compared to all their other loves in the past, and 71% of them said that
this was their most intense romance of all. Additionally, 61% of the participants said
that the rekindled romance started faster than any other romance in the past, and
that the sexual involvement was the BEST (63%).
>5. Why does rekindled love endure?
The couples grew up together, they spent their formative years together, and many
of the first loves reported that the lost love became “the standard” for all their other
romances. They knew each other well - they attended classes together, knew each
other’s families and friends, shared roots and values. It is these similarities that
form the strength of the bond. These romances are, at their heart, friendships as
well as romances.
>6. Isn’t there some research that suggests that this love might have a biological
component?
Yes. Remember that expression used for teenagers, “ranging hormones?” When
teens are in love for the first time, hormones like oxytocin and vassopressin are
released when the sweethearts are sexually excited. These chemicals form
emotional memories in the brain, stored in an area called the amygdala. When the
lost lovers meet again, those memories are released by the familar sight, smell,
touch, sound of the long lost lover. The feelings are comforting and familiar and
also very sexually arousing!
>7. Why should this book be “required reading” for parents of adolescents?
The most common reason why these romances broke up the first time was “parents
disapproved.” Not only disapproved — many of these couples were forcefully
broken apart by the parents, with threats to their children, or manipulations such as
hiding letters from the sweetheart. When these couples reunited, they were very
bitter and angry at their parents (dead or alive) for costing them many years when
they could have been happily together. Many missed their childbearing years
because of this breakup. And why did the parents react that way? They just “didn’t
like the person” their child was dating.
I checked to see how these couples fared a second time; ie, if the parents broke
them apart, were the parents “right” and they broke up a second time? Half of the
time, they broke up again, and half of the time they stayed happily together. And
they is no way to predict, no way for parents to know what’s right for their children.
It should make parents think twice before they break up first loves.
>8. What can teenagers learn from this book?
I hear from a lot of teenagers, males and females, who are broken-hearted because
their first loves just “dumped” them. Some say they are suicidal. From my research,
we learn that these are true loves, important loves, that should not be belittled. And
teens should be comforted by the fact that the breakup may not be forever. The first
love might comes back some day. Don’t sit around and wait for that, but keep it in
the back of your heart as hope for the future.
>9. Instead of reconnecting with a lost love, what about finding a long lost friend?
It’s really the same thing. In fact, many of my couples really weren’t in romances the
first time. They were just friends — sometimes very young friends, like 8 or 9 year
olds. The shared roots are the important part; old friends make us feel comfortable
and we can talk about old times. It’s very healing to reunite.
>10. Is there anyone who should avoid seeking a Lost Love?
Yes. If one or both members of the couple are married to someone else. don’t go
there! Don’t even look up the person to say hello. Even good marriages were put in
jeopardy by lost loves. The people just didn’t realize that the feelings come back
VERY strongly.
And if the person was abusive in any way the first time, forget a reunion.
Personalities don’t change. The couples in my study who succeeded with a happy
reunion had been situationally pulled apart the first time; they did NOT check the
box “we weren’t getting along well.”
>11. What is your first piece of advice to anyone who is considering finding a lost
love?
These are very intense romances. Before you begin any dialogue with a lost love, ask
yourself if you could handle whatever occurred — a rejection, a romance, another
breakup with that person. If the answer to any of these is “no,” it’s best not to try.
But if you are single, divorced, or widowed, it might be the best thing that ever
happened to you.

You know the situation: There you are at a business or social function and you end up with someone who you have never met before. Some people get amazingly uncomfortable with this situation because they simply don’t know how to start or carry on a conversation. Yet successful people are always going to find themselves in these kinds of situations because they are always stretching themselves and putting themselves into situations to help them and their businesses grow and that means meeting new people. So if you are going to be successful, one thing you have to get down is how to talk to anybody, anytime. Good news: It is easier than you think!
First, a couple of things not to do. One, don’t get flustered and excuse yourself. That is the easy way out, and you never know if you didn’t just leave who would have become your best friend or closest business associate. Stick around! Secondly, don’t start talking about yourself. Sure, introduce yourself, but don’t launch into a half-hour monologue about your accomplishments. The other person will either roll their eyes back into their head or simply give you a new nickname: Joe “let me tell you a story about myself” Schmoe. This leads me to the key.
Talk about the person you have just met. Don’t talk about yourself - talk about them! And the key is to ask questions. Now, there are obviously some people you just will not be able to talk to because they are absolute bores or they are angry or upset or something, but I have found that that is only about 1% of the people, if even that. For the most part, if you persist in asking questions, you will be able to talk to anybody, anytime.
There are three segments to this process:
Ask questions.
Find connections.
Go in those directions.
What you are trying to do is to find common ground. What makes people afraid to talk to others is that they are afraid they won’t have anything in common. I have found that usually, if you ask questions for a minute or two, you can always find a connection with someone, and then you’re set. The worst that could happen is that you ask the person questions for a few minutes and find nothing. But what will that person tell others? That you seem to have a genuine interest in others. That is a great reputation to have!
That is another key here. You can’t be a selfish, arrogant person and be successful. I am talking true well-rounded success, not just collecting a pot full of money.
The best way to describe this process is to write out a mock conversation. You will notice the kinds of questions I would ask, when I find a connection, and how I would go in that direction.
“Hi, I’m Chris Widener. What is your name?”
“Joe Schmoe.”
“Well, Joe, what do you do for a living?”
“I sell insurance.” (Possible connection here. Everybody has insurance)
“Oh yeah? What kind of insurance?”
“I insure Oil rigs in the Adriatic Sea.” (Whoops. Lost connection)
“Wow. That’s must be fascinating. Married or kids, Joe?” (I have a wife and kids, maybe we can show pictures)
“No, actually, I’m single.” (It isn’t looking good yet)
“So, who do you know here at the party?”
“Well, nobody. I am the brother of the host’s accountant. I’m in town for a week and my brother had to make an appearance.” (It is going in the wrong direction here)
“So where are you from?”
“Nebraska.” (Bingo, there it is. The connection! Now let’s go in that direction)
“Really? My dad was from Nebraska. Even though he died when I was four, my grandmother used to take me back to visit my relatives every summer growing up. It sure was a lot of fun. Were you city folk, or did you live on a farm?”
“I grew up on a pig farm.”
“That’s what my relatives did! As a kid I always wanted to ride one of those sows. Luckily my uncles never let me attempt it.”
There you are. Now just start asking questions about what they did growing up, how they liked it etc.
If you get adept enough at asking questions of others, you will inevitably find a connection to talk about. And having something in common with someone is the start to a long and mutually beneficial relationship - one of the foundations of success!
I am in a career where I meet new people all the time and this is exactly what I do. I am no better conversationalist than most of you. It is just a proven way of getting a relationship off the ground with someone you have just met.
Here it is again:
Ask questions, find connections, go in those directions.

Jobs are heating up. We’re all feeling the pinch
of hiring freezes and information overload.
Workplace stress is increasing right along with
the workload.
Headaches are turning into migraines; back pains
are driving us to the chiropractor, and minor
irritations are causing tempers to flair.
In addition to our personal reaction to stress, it
is taking its toll on the bottom line. Stress is
driving up the cost of health care, and we can see
a huge impact in things like tardiness,
absenteeism, personnel turnover, and accidents.
The annual price tag of stress in corporate
America is more than $150 billion.
While forecasters tell us we can expect more of
the same, we need our jobs, and we need to find
ways to control the stressors that are
affecting our health and productivity.
Here are 11 ways you can keep your cool and
minimize the impact of stress on your life.
Do your own job - When poor the work habits of
others create stress, remember why you’re there.
Pay attention to your own job. You will not be
rated on the performance of others, but the boss
will note the quality of your work. Stay focused
on the job you were hired for, and let management
deal with improving the department or the company.
Don’t get stressed about things that are not your
responsibility.
Organization - Regardless of company expectations,
you can alleviate a lot of your stress by
organizing your work space and getting a firm
grasp on the work that must be done. Even if you
have to pay for it yourself, get the tools needed
to organize your effort, e.g. files, furniture,
PDAs, software, and training. Work with your boss
to prioritize projects and routine tasks. Only
get concerned about unfinished work if the boss
gives it a priority. You’ll never get everything
done, so pick the most important and file
everything else in an easy to reach file drawer.
Communication - It’s important to maintain your
supervisor’s comfort level, so meet with them as
often as necessary to keep them informed of
projects and progress. Give them updates the way
they want them (email, memos, briefings, etc.),
and persist in getting the feedback that is so
important in reducing stress. Use this same
strategy with those who give you information or
products to do your job and those who depend on
what you give them. Good communication is
essential for good stress control.
Interruptions - Avoid stressful interruptions by
controlling your schedule and your communications.
Establish times for meeting with those who want
information from you and hold them to it. The
more persistent you are, the more organized they
will be. Handle phone calls and respond to email
during specific times. Develop a list of people
and events that disrupt your job and work with
each until it is under control.
Family Time - Family situations are among the
greatest stressors at work. There’s an old axiom
that says, “If momma ain’t happy, ain’t nobody
happy.” It’s true. Avoid future problems by
prioritizing family time on your schedule and
stick to it. Get professional help if you’re
unable to resolve sticky situations.
Exercise - More than 80% of all doctor’s visits
are stress related. Those who find time to
exercise reduce stress, strengthen their immune
system, and improve their well being. Do a little
research and talk with the experts to find out
what fits your needs. Make the exercise part of
your work schedule if possible; don’t let it cut
into family time. Regular exercise can add years
to your own life and make you more productive for
your employer.
Nutrition - Proper nutrition is a key to stress
control. The US Army recognizes proper nutrition
as a critical element in controlling stress among
combat soldiers, and you must admit, your job is
sometimes as stressful as combat. Use the
Internet or get information from Human Resources
to improve nutrition. You’ll have to make some
deliberate changes because our eating habits are
affected by our culture, the expectations of
others, inadequate knowledge about what makes a
proper diet. Learn what is needed and make a
plan.
Rest - Take charge of your sleep habits in the
same way you work on your eating habits. Sleep
deprivation is a major stressor by itself, and it
adds to the problem with other stressful events.
Cut out the late night television. Quit taking
work home from the office. Change the pattern of
your weekend parties. Get some new friends. Do
whatever is necessary to get back on track with
seven or eight hours sleep every night. Studies
show that twenty minute power naps make us more
productive, so use part of your lunch break for
nutrition and part for a short nap to control
stress. You’ll get more done.
Discussion - Tell people what’s on your mind. If
you can’t ignore someone’s special talent for
bugging you, talk it over with them. There’s a
good chance they are unaware of the offense, so
you don’t need to get up tight about it. In a
friendly tone of voice, let them know what gets
under your skin and be ready to make some
concessions yourself. As you now know, their
irritating habit is probably magnified by other
stressors, so make sure you’ve done what you can
to control stress before challenging anyone.
Education - The more educated you are about your
job, the less stressful it becomes. Even if
you’ve been on the job for years, there’s always
more to learn about the upstream and downstream
impact of what you do. Stay up to date with trade
journals, books, and other research. Become the
expert at what you do and coach others. While
some companies do not pay for this type education,
your own investment will make you more valuable to
your company. What you know is portable - and it
looks good on a resume.
Volunteer - Helping others has an immediate impact
on stress levels. Build in some family time by
volunteering as a family once a month. Build
rapport with supervisors and co-workers by
organizing a once-a-week lunchtime volunteer
program. Lead a food or clothing collection for
needy employees or families outside your company.
Create a support-the-troops letter writing
campaign so everyone in the company communicates
regularly with GI’s away from home. In short,
doing something for someone else takes your mind
off the stressors that bother you most.
Each of these stress relievers works independently
of the others. Find one that’s practical for you
and put it to work. Friends, family, and
co-workers will all notice the changes in you and
thank you for making the effort.
